Village Meeting notes26 July 01

Talent
1) Reports from Talent Coordinator:
A) We need to build some kind of dust and water covers for the speakers and other exposed equipment.
Looking for ideas. Contact Natalie with hard designs.
B) In addition to the DJ coffin, we're gonna need a mixing board for the bands. Can we find one cheap?
2) Transportation
A) The need for a Tansportation officer was recognized.
B) Since Maria Gutierrez has done much of the footwork already, she was nominated.
C) Vote carried unanimously.
D) Adam from discovery camp to assist.
E) Trucks estimated at $900 plus gas each.
3) Electricity
A) Electrical Coordinator needed
B) no interested volunteers present
C) Tedward noted that long cords might be obtained.
D) Whump to be approached on ideas for large genny's.
4) Architech
A) ideas for showers presented - after much discussion, it was decided that position and water handling
needed re-thinking. Geofrey will re-work.
C) Stage re-design displayed. Generally appreciated. More materials needed.
D) More building space secured across from Faisdodo.
5) Coordinator
A) we CAN have fire barrels of our own design in the village (in case they're not provided). We have
access to 55 gal drums.
B) We have approval for showers as long as they're for the village only.
6) Funding (note, Treasurer not present)
A) A rough and quick estimate of camp funding needs was made.
B) Based on current number of participants, $50 a person will be needed to build, transport and run village.
C) Estimated number of participants is double current number.
D) Therefore, Village registration fees set at $25 per person.
a) Lower fees will attract more people
b) Non-theme related campers will be allowed
c) Non-theme campers will have access to showers and village extras
d) Non-theme camps will not yet be represented on council
e) some work will be expected of village campers.
E) We will build based on available funds.
F) If greater funds are needed, donations or fundraisers.
7) New project: Village Beacon
A) An El-Wire Beacon will be built and funded by the village.
B) It shall be placed, raised, from the highest structure for easy visibility
C) Jordan Boyd volunteered to investigate costs.
D) Tedward will take submissions for village logo for the beacon
8) Group Hug
Next gathering: Saturday construction at 1912 Tamarind
Next meeting: Next Thursday, 1912 Tamarind. Afterglow at the Bourgois Pig. :)
