I started with the primary rope and the metal ring.
Tie the primary rope at the center point around the ring.
Then, I tied a 35.5 foot rope at the 35 foot points
along the main ropes and stretched it out. I used a
low metal fence and pulled the ring with a separate rope.
I kept tying horizontal ropes until the first spool
of 500 feet thin nylon was used up.
Eventually, I got all the horizontal ropes done.
My original though was just to keep tying ropes, but the nylon
seemed very slippery so I decided to tie each horizontal piece
INTO the main rope by pushing a set of needle nose piers through
the main to grab the thin rope and tie normally.
The next step was to attach the cross webbing. I chose to keep the
triangle theme and went for this idea. My first instinct was to
do this starting at each rope, creating all triangles. However,
I knew that I only had 300 feet left after finishing the horizontals,
so I decided to go every third rope, glad I did.
And here you can see the final pattern emerging. Wherever a rope
crossesanother rope I put in a knot. These, too, could slide
aroud a bit, but the crossing points tend to pull things together.
